1. When you make your first sale, you need to follow-up with the customer. You could follow-up with a nice “thank you” email and include an advertisement for any other products you sell. I advise to follow-up every few months or weeks even!
2. Try to up sell to your customers. When your customers are at your order page, tell them about a few extra related products you have for sale. You can give them the option to add it to their original order.
3. This one always works! Invite your customers to refer four other customers to your web site. If they manage to do so, you give them a full or half rebate of their purchase price. This way you can turn one sale into three sales!
4. This one is often forgotten. When you sell a product, try to give your customers the option of joining an affiliate program for your product. They could make commissions selling your product. This simple tactic can multiply the sale you just made!
5. A lot of people are doing this already and it works! Try selling reprint or reproduction rights to your products. This will make you serious money. You could try to include an ad with a product for other products you sell. This way you could make sales of the reproduction rights and sales on the back end product.
6. Try to cross promote your own product with other peoples products in a package deal.
7. When you deliver your product include a coupon for other products you sell. This often attracts people to buy more products from you.
8. This also works like a charm. Try sending your customers follow up emails with add-on products for the original product they purchased. Think of upgrades, services, etc. If they really liked your product they will most likely buy the extra add-ons.
9. Try selling certificates for your products people can give away as a gift.
10. Try sending your customers free products. Be smart and print your ad on these freebies.

It is official…Marcus Welby is dead! His assassins, managed care and medical malpractice are still at large.
The days of house calls and familiarity between doctor and patient are going the way of vinyl records. What may be surprising to many is that the majority of doctors are just as angry and frustrated with the situation as the patients.
As a physician, I have had the opportunity to experience this dilemma from both sides; as a doctor and as a patient. The following 7 tips include gestures that I responded to favorably as a doctor and actions that aided me as a patient.
- Have your insurance and personal information updated and ready prior to your visit. Nothing slows down the front office more than unprepared patients. If all patients are prepared with the above information the office staff is less stressed, delays are avoided, and the amount of time you spend waiting for the doctor is reduced. This tip avoids stress on both sides of the fence.
- Have a list of your current medications with you at your visit. You would be surprised how many patients take medication without knowing the name or dose of what they are taking.Take responsibility for your health by knowing what you are putting into your body.In a busy primary care office medication changes sometimes may not be charted. This can cause the wrong medication to be prescribed on a refill request.Knowing your medication name and dose helps prevent medication errors.
- Have a list of your symptoms with you at your visit. You can help your doctor arrive at a speedy, accurate diagnosis by having a list of symptoms which are specific to your complaint. This saves the doctor from having to perform a complete review of systems to look for clues.
- Have a list of questions prepared. Prepare a few reasonable questions for your visit, keeping in mind that time is a factor.Common questions come up frequently, and in many cases the nurse can give you an adequate answer. If the nurse is unable to answer your question she will often alert the doctor to the question before you are seen. This often helps the doctor prepare in advance, so your question can be answered in a rapid, concise manner.
- Ask your doctor about his family Doctors are human beings with human lives and problems. When a patient asked about my family my engine automatically slowed down and a smile came to my face.I was grateful for the break in the action.I found myself making sure that all of that patient’s questions were answered.
- Ask your doctor how the malpractice crisis is affecting him When patients asked me this question I always forgot how busy I was. I gave them a passionate answer. I made sure all their questions were answered and that they were satisfied before they left the office.
- Ask your doctor how the healthcare crisis is affecting him. I loved it when patients asked me this question. It gave me a chance to explain the problems with managed care and how the increasing doctor shortage was influencing patient volume and waiting time. I always walked away from that patient encounter feeling a little lighter. the patient usually walked away with a bag of any drug samples he needed. At the end of the day, after seeing 50 patients and answering countless phone calls, that patient’s name and face remained in my mind.
Use the first 4 tips to be a responsible patient and to take ownership of your health. Use the last 3 to be a human being, and to help your doctor remember why he became a doctor in the first place.

Dr. Messina became a Board Certified Family Practitioner in 1985. He had a solo practice until 1994. At that time he helped form a group Family Practice in which he was Vice President. He left group practice in 1997 and became Medical Director of a Wellness Center. He was responsible for coordinating the efforts of nutritionists, acupuncturists, massage therapists, exercise physiologists, and Chinese medicine practitioners into patient care plans. He entered clinical research in 2000. He has been the Principal Investigator in over 50 clinical trials involving osteoarthritis, diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, dry eye, migraine, and diabetes prevention. He has served as a consultant to a nutritional company, and has formulated nutritional supplements.

Have you been looking for that perfect romantic restaurant to take a date or spouse to? Do you like old fashion elegant steak houses with lots of dark rich wood, plenty of marble and romantic lighting? Do you like the idea of a large fireplace? Do you like soft romantic harp music played by a very talented harpist? Do you like excellent leisurely attentive service where you never feel rushed? Do you like personal attention from the owners? Do you like aged prime cuts of beef that are exceptionally well prepared? Do you like fine wines and a relaxed quiet atmosphere where you can enjoy good conversation with your guest?
There is a spot in Pasadena, California that gives you all that and more. JJ Steak House which is on the upper floor at 88 W. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91105, telephone number 626-844-8889.
JJ Steak House, which is fairly pricey for a Pasadena area restaurant is inexpensive when compared to comparable restaurants in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York. There is an old saying, You get what you pay for, however in this case, with JJ Steak House you get more than you pay for. I have been to a few restaurants that may be slightly better than this one, however their prices were all considerably higher. I have also been to many restaurants that are not nearly as good but still charge much more.
This place is not in a ritzy glitzy building, is not in Beverly Hills, Manhattan or on the Loop, does not have a fancy entrance with expensive cars parked in front and you can walk or drive past it every day without knowing it is there. What it does have is great food served well in a romantic setting. If you appreciate fine quiet elegant dining with excellent fare served properly at very reasonable prices, you will love JJ Steak House. By the way, it is JJ Steak House not JJs Steak House.
If you like loud music, a noisy atmosphere, fast impersonal service or if you think that Sizzler Restaurants serves delicious prime rib, then JJ is not the place for you.
This steak house is very popular, therefore reservations while not required are a good idea, especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

For many folks debating whether or not to have LASIK eye surgery the question of post operative recuperation often comes up and leaves them slightly nervous. Let’s be real here – most people take the time to educate themselves on the pros and cons of vision correction with LASIK eye surgery. They have carefully read all of the available literature on how to correctly choose the best doctor to perform their vision enhancing surgery. They probably also spent countless hours in front of their computer staring at their monitor as they researched what to expect from start to finish when allowing a LASIK procedure to be performed on their eyes. Still none of this can prepare you for what exactly will happen after your vision correction surgery takes place. This article will help alleviate some of the anxieties associated with LASIK eye surgery recuperation.
You may have heard or read the horror stories associated with LASIk eye surgery but the truth is many people have a successful laser eye surgery and enjoy a pleasant experience before, during and after surgery. In fact a majority of eye surgery patients actually go home and after a good night’s sleep (allowing their eyes to rest) wake up without any discomfort or painful episodes. They key to a successful postoperative recuperation is listening to your doctor’s advice regarding how to treat your eyes after the vision correction procedure.
One of the most recognized suggestions by all doctors performing laser eye surgery is to bring a friend or relative with you to the clinic where the eye surgery will be performed. Many doctors will require you to wait several hours in their clinic in order to allow your eyes the opportunity to get some well-deserved rest. You may be required to wear an eye covering in order to prevent any direct contact between your sensitive eyes and the sun. The time duration required to wear these protective eye coverings varies for each individual patient. Just relax and listen to the advice your doctor gives you, after all he or she has done this surgery hundreds of times before.
Please don’t be alarmed by the information contained in this next paragraph. It is common for most people to experience a small amount of pain or minor discomfort after successful laser eye surgery during their LASIK eye surgery recuperation period. Normally your doctor will prescribe a mild pain reliever such as acetaminophen and they rarely prescribe aspirin due to its blood thinning effects. Other common side effects as a result of your laser vision correction will be itchy eyes and an increased sensitivity to light. Both of these mild symptoms gradually go away until they are no longer noticeable.
Your doctor may also recommend that you stay home from work for a few days (many folks actually enjoy this recommendation) and avoid any strenuous type of activities such as weightlifting, exercising or running. It is absolutely imperative that you follow this warning – Do Not Attempt To Play Any Type Of Contact Sports. Yes, I’m sorry but you must avoid playing football, baseball, basketball even golf. Sport of any kind could seriously jeopardize your LASIK eye recuperation period if you were to irritate your eye, bump your eye or allow a large amount of dust particles to enter your eye.
You can expect to receive follow up treatments from your attending physician or doctor at regular intervals in order to make sure your eyes are properly recuperating from the laser eye surgery. Additionally you may experience a varying degree of vision improvement followed by degradation for the first few months. Again this is normal and it will eventually clear itself up as your eye adjust itself to its new formation. Remember to always report anything you feel is abnormal about your recovery time to your doctor so they can quickly diagnose if there is a problem occurring during your recuperation form laser vision correction surgery.
Hopefully this article gave you a little more insight (sorry I couldn’t help myself) into what can be expected during your LASIK eye surgery recuperation period. Just remember to listen to your doctor and take a few extra precautions for at least the first 6 months following your laser eye surgery. It could mean the difference between blurred vision and perfect vision.

…you are, he is, she is, they are… But you knew that already, didn’t you? Or have you really stopped to think about it recently – or ever for that matter?
Huh?
I guess we need a little clarification on this. So…do this. Touch yourself. That’s right, go ahead and touch yourself.
So, what did you feel? Skin? Of course. Maybe some hair? OK. How about warmth? Sure, unless you’re standing naked in your back yard in Minnesota in the middle of January. (You really need to get back inside as quickly as possible – and try to cut back on the quantity of hot toddies…)
Unless you’re numbed out of your gourd or weren’t really paying attention, you felt YOU! So what’s so special about that? YOU’RE ALIVE! Honest-to-goodness, really alive! Think about it. For about a zillion years you weren’t – alive that is. You did not exist. You were only scattered molecular stardust. You could have been a little part of just about anything you can think of – oak tree, beach, chicken feathers – you name it. (Don’t dwell too long on this thought. It can get pretty gross real quick if you let it.)
From the beginning of time, we have been nothing more than a potential biological jigsaw puzzle waiting for assembly. And now – son-of-a-gun, here we are. From two microscopic half-cells merged in a surge of passion, the miracle of genetics has transformed that single cell into a zillion-celled, complex, functioning animal organism.
‘Tain’t no big deal, you say? It happens every day?
Oh, c’mon, now. It is a mega-deal that happens thousands and thousands of times a day. And – it happens with a terrifically small percentage of errors. As a general rule, our noses, eyes and ears wind up in pretty much the right place on our heads. We have the correct numbers of arms, legs, fingers and toes. And our innards are all positioned normally and function as they were intended. All this from microscopic cell latched onto the lining of Mom’s womb!
Let’s take a quick inventory of “us”.
We all have a really cool, flexible, articulating framework as a foundation for the rest of the stuff we’re made of. Over 200 bones, all connected together and hinged so we can walk, talk, stand, sit, run, bend, stoop, squat, jump, reach, grasp, point, scratch, eat, push, pull, lift, swim, lie down and perform any other maneuver or contortion you can think of. Cool, huh? In addition of course, some of this framework also does a great job of protecting our insides – brain, lungs, heart, and digestive system – from damage from excessive outside forces.
All of these fairly solid hunks of material are connected and maneuvered by our tendons, ligaments and muscles. The assemblies of interconnected, expandable, contractible, cells that work harmoniously as directed to allow us to accomplish all of the things we’ve already mentioned.
Think about it! Just the fact that we have a solid supporting framework that we can manipulate and move pretty much as we desire is amazing in and of itself!
Our basic building blocks – our cells – are all individually live little bits of protein and goo that use the oxygen and nutrients they are supplied to multiply and do the jobs required of the organ that they are a part of.
Our digestive system takes the raw materials we provide it in the way of food (and occasionally assorted garbage), processes it into a form usable by the cells and ships it out through our internal distribution system. The unusable excess is dumped (excuse the term) externally.
Our circulatory system – heart, arteries, capillaries, veins – transport nourishment, oxygen, and an assortment of other chemicals and substances (hormones, biological warriors, waste materials and occasional invading buggies) to and from all of our body parts (individual cells).
Our respiratory system – lungs and associated passageways – snags the oxygen from the air, passes it along to the transporters in our bloodstream, drags the carbon dioxide (one of the byproducts of cell life) back out of the blood and expels it out into the air.
Our nervous system receives outside stimuli from sights, sounds, smells, tastes and “feels”, translates it into generally comprehensible information and either uses it immediately to produce a response or stores it for future reference. At the same time, it keeps all of our internal processes functioning in a fairly efficient manner.
Add to all of this, our systems and sub-systems for gathering the outside stimuli in the first place (eyes, ears, nose, etc.), fighting off disease, healing injuries, maintaining body temperature, maintaining chemical balance, growing hair, producing freckles, passing gas, reproducing, etc. and suddenly we are introduced to ourselves as an extremely complex biological organism!
Holy Smokes, folks! We are one of the most complicated assemblies of parts and pieces on the face of this earth! We are so complicated in fact, that even after studying our body parts for all these years to try to figure out exactly how all our stuff works, we still don’t know everything! Maybe we never will. Who knows?
Are ya trackin’ with me here? We – you and I – are ALIVE! We’re functioning and doing all the stuff that we human-type animals do. If that’s not absolutely mind-boggling, I don’t know what is!

How disciplined are you?
If you’re like most freelancers, you love the “time freedom” of your lifestyle. No more punching a time clock or being chained to a desk. No more “hanging up quickly” when the boss walks by.
As a freelancer those days are gone forever…but one quickly learns that in order to make a great living as a copywriter, you’re now the “boss” to whom you must be accountable!
It’s ironic, to be sure. And as you strive for higher and higher income and greater and greater success, you’ll realize that neither will come without strict time discipline on your part.
Setting Your “Policy”
Now that you work from home (as most freelance writers do), people will know that you’re available for rides to the airport and other favors. Since part of the pleasure of freelancing is its time flexibility, you might want to be able to say “yes” from time to time.
However there’s a big danger lurking called “part time work,” and if you spend too much time not working, you wind up with “part time pay.” If you have a family or small children, enormous amounts of time can also be siphoned away through small but endless interruptions.
The best way to deal with “time thieves” is to institute a “policy,” as most businesses do. When you say “I’m sorry, my policy is to devote two hours per week to doing favors and this week I’ve already used them up,” you’ll probably find little resistance. That’s because policies are like printed signs: people rarely argue with them.
A Simple But Powerful Daily Schedule Document
As a freelancer, you’ll need to create your own work system and your own documents. Over the years I’ve refined my own system and documents to near perfection (I’m always changing and improving as ideas come to me).
One of my most powerful documents is my “Daily Timesheet and Schedule.” It helps me prioritize my most important projects, lays out what I need to do in half hour increments, shames me into doing my daily exercise routine, and forces me to be accountable throughout the day. If someone needs a favor of me, it must go on the Daily Schedule where it “bumps” a work item.
Here is the Formula for
Creating Your Own “Task Master”
Since it’s so easy for us freelancers to procrastinate when we’re faced with a task we’d rather put off, I put right at the top of my Daily Schedule the question, “How will I earn money today?” And then I must write it down in the top position for that day’s work.
This forces me to put aside the fun but less important jobs, to focus on the most lucrative.
My Daily Schedule also has two columns: the left hand column is for “Task”; the right hand column is for “Activity.” The Task column shows what I should be doing at any appointed time. The Activity column shows what I AM doing.
Having to write down what I’m actually doing under “Activity” exposes those moments when I’m doing something I shouldn’t be doing…those time-wasters that detract from my income. You can imagine how powerful it is to acknowledge by physically writing it down that you’re not doing what you’re supposed to be doing!
If you adopt this system for keeping you on the straight-and-narrow, be sure to create your plan for the day the night before. That way you can gather the tools, papers, research and other items you need so you can truly stay on schedule throughout the day.
By working from such a schedule you can identify your personal work weaknesses, increase your billable time and effectiveness, and conquer your procrastination.
Try this system for yourself and see if you don’t get more done, earn more, and feel more successful because you are!

1. Persistence!
Violate this step and you’ll never achieve permanent results. We recently concluded conducted a 10 year study which proves that persistence is the single most important aspect of any diet or exercise program. The study followed a group of people (group #1) who exercised and dieted very strictly, but sporadically and compared those results to a group of people (group #2) who exercised mildly and followed a very basic diet, but this group never varied from their routine. Even though group #2 exercised and dieted far less (but did so persistently) they got 68% better results than those who exercised and dieted VERY STRICTLY but only occasionally.
2. Workout around other people.
Working out with others will get you about 43% faster results!!!
3. Don’t take bad advice.
Take ONLY the advice of those people who look strong & healthy themselves, and, whom you know to be knowledgeable about health & fitness!
4. ALWAYS keep an eye on your pulse.
When doing aerobic or cardiovascular training! Keeping your pulse inside your 80% target heart rate zone will burn up to 9 times more calories. Dropping below your target heart rate will not burn nearly as many fat calories, and going above your target heart rate may lead to muscle breakdown.
5. Surround yourself with winners.
One of the key qualities of all successful people is that they avoid negative people and they spend the majority of their time surrounded by those who have already achieved what they themselves seek to achieve. So if your goal is to weigh 135 pounds by eating healthy and living an energy full life – then seek out others who already live a healthy lifestyle and weigh 135 pounds. Hanging out with people who just talk about getting in shape but never take persistent action will ensure that you never reach your goal.
6. Know your outcome.
Have specific goals. Get a photo (or several) of what you WILL look like when you reach your goal, then focus only on that image. Quickly erase any negative beliefs or images that may enter into your mind during your day.
7. Increase you water intake.
Water is a key component to life. No living creature can survive without a fresh supply of pure water each and every day. If you do not consume enough fresh water every day, your body will age faster, appear fatter, be more susceptible to germs and colds, lose joint mobility, and much more. Generally speaking, most people who weigh under 150 pounds require no less than 8-10 glasses per day, those who weigh between 150-250 pounds require about 16 glasses per day.
8. Watch where your calories come from.
Without a doubt, we eat way too much sugar and fat. Moderation was the key in the past, now the key is moderation and the exclusion of junk food. One or two binges per year are generally OK if you are a normal healthy individual, but more is absolutely not OK.
9. Increase the number of meals consumed per day.
On average, you should be eating some form of protein and vegetable combination that’s low in fat and high in fiber every 2 -3 hours of the day. Doing so will give you an almost unfair advantage over those who only eat the normal 3 meals (or less) each day.
10. Visualize Clearly and Often.
Design your new body in your mind first. You cannot achieve your idea of the perfect body if you don’t have an idea of what the perfect body means to you. Take 10 minutes when you are sure not to be disturbed by people or phone calls, get comfortable, fully relax, then begin to dream about what you will look like when you have achieved your goal. Be specific, what will your calves look like, your legs, your butt, your lower back, your stomach, your chest, your upper back, your shoulders, your neck and your face. Then review this image as often throughout each day as possible (never less than 3x/day).
11. Cardio…Cardio…Cardio.
Cardiovascular exercising does more for the health and the appearance of the human body than any other form of exercise. Learn how much and what type of cardio is right for your particular body. Then refer to step #1 and do it persistently.

Are you selling products or services to the federal government? Every year, city, county, state and the federal government buy billions of dollars in goods and services from business of all types.
Although doing business with the government is great and financially rewarding, it can also be hard on your cash flow. Why? Government agencies take, on average, about 40 days to pay their invoices. In the meantime, you have to cover all your recurring expenses such as payroll, rent and supplier payments.
This is not a problem if you have 60 days worth of operating capital in your bank account. But what if you don’t? In that case, many business owners will try to get a business loan. Although that may help, business loans are tough to get and take a long time to set up. Also, business loans have set limits.
What business owners need, is a product that provides financing solely based on the business opportunity – on sales possibilities. This product exists and is called invoice factoring. There are many factoring companies that specialize in factoring government contractors and vendors.
Factoring accelerates your government payments, and enables you to get paid in days rather than months. It’s a form of financing where the factoring company advances you money against your government receivables. You get to use the funds immediately, while waiting to get paid. Once the government pays, the transaction is settled.
If you are reselling products to the government, you should also consider purchase order financing. In this case, the factoring company provides you with financing to pay your suppliers, enabling you to make the sale. Purchase order financing works well with invoice factoring and can also help you grow your company – exponentially.
So, if you own a business that sells to the government, be sure to look into factoring and purchase order financing.
