If you want to make it as a professional writer, you will eventually need to be branch out into the world of magazines. While many new writers are intimidated by the major magazines and editors, it is important to realize that they are not so different from any other publication. Aside from the fact that they print monthly, most magazines are just looking for knowledgeable writers who have a passion for their subject. If you want to write for magazines, or any other publication, simply write what you know and the rest will fall into place. As you progress through your career, you may want to experiment with subjects that require research.
The best approach to writing for magazines is to scour the supermarket for a few magazines that cover a favorite sport, hobby or subject that you are most knowledgeable about. Pick up a few copies and browse through the table of contents page. There is generally a tab featuring the names of editors, along with a mailing address for the magazine, a website and perhaps an e-mail address. Contact the editors directly and inquire about writing for their publication. If requested, send samples of your work and several ideas for a column that you would like to write. It isn’t necessary to have previously published work samples, but it may help to show the editor that other publications, including local newspapers, have published your work.
When speaking to magazine editors, always remember to be yourself. If you try to sound a certain way that you think editors want to hear, they will see right through the disguise. Magazines naturally invoke intimidation, but editors are just people too. Be personable and friendly, laugh if something is funny and speak to them as you would an old friend. If they like who you are, they will like your writing. The people who read magazines are people just like you and they want to read something written by a genuine person.
If you have trouble launching your career in the world of magazines, or cannot quite convince the editor to give you a try, don’t give up. Start with smaller magazines and work your way up to the top. In some cases, it may even help to write several free articles just to get your foot in the door. This will provide you with previously published work samples and a background in writing.
A final thought when writing for magazines relates to dealing with rejection. There are some editors who are as nice as your next door neighbor and others who are not. Just as with any career, there are good and bad jobs and bosses. The trick is to accept rejection, whether put nicely or not, and move on. In the world of magazines, there is a lot of competition and it takes work to get noticed. Learn from criticism, grow from it and allow it to make you a better writer. At the same time, don’t be afraid to stand up for your work. Know that there is always room for improvement, but be proud of what you have done thus far.

COLORS OF BASS FISHING BAITS
The best colors for the spring, especially if you have a lot of crawfish in the lake, are red, red/orange, and other variations of these colors. Some have spots on them and these are very effective. The standard chrome, and chrome with a blue back, and chrome and red, have worked especially well for the larger bass. If the water is extremely stained to muddy, we forund that the red, and the chartreuse/brown combinations work well in this kind of situation. If you have a lot of bluegill in the area, and less crawfish or shad, then the Bluegill/Suncracker patterns work very well. The primary forage in the lakes are the best patterns, unless you know that many anglers are aware of this, and are using these colors also. Then switching to unconventional patterns can fool some of the wary bigger bass. Again, we switch only the front hook to a “Bleeding Bait Hook” by TTI-Blakemore, (Daiichi), and then change the back hook to the same brand but in the traditional nickel color. I have been writing articles and submitting them to various article directories for around a year now. When I started I felt very fresh and had plenty to write about. After a few months however, I started to get what is known as writers block. I could not think of anything else to write about. In this article I give advice about how to react when this happens, advice which I hope will help you to continue to write quality and original articles.
My name is Steve Hill and my line of business is as a speech coach. I developed a stutter when I was four years of age and it continued to affect my life for the next eighteen years. I have managed to overcome this speech impediment and as a career I now help other people to achieve fluency. I feel I know quite a lot about the subject and found it quite easy and enjoyable to write about all aspects of stuttering.
After a while I could not think of anything new to write about stuttering, which would be of value to people and made the mistake or re-writing some of the articles using different words. I must admit I was unaware that this was against the rules but now realise that each article needs to have original content, which I accept and understand.
I then wrote about some of the experiences from my own life, like how I coped when my now ex-girlfriend left me and even stories about my dog! A number of people have read these articles and have sent me some very nice e-mails stating how much they have enjoyed them.
One morning I woke up with very good intentions, I was planning on writing three or four new articles. I turned on the computer and basically sat there. Come on write something, I tried to tell myself. The problem was that I could not think of anything to write about. I decided to go back to bed. I seem to be able to think clearer from my bed, a bit weird I know.
I decided that I was not only going to write about my own life and experiences but I would also write about my family and friends. Other areas I could write about would be:
How to promote a website
Web design
Self confidence
Travel
World affairs
Sport
Exercise
Weight loss
Stress management
Anger management
Business
These are all areas I have a great interest in and even though they are not my main line of business, the articles should be of interest to people. Most of the topics which I have listed are things which I or people I know, have had experiences with. For example a lot of people who stutter including myself in the past, have issues with their self-confidence.
Weight loss is subject which is close to my heart as I have had many problems in controlling my own weight. I also run my own business and therefore have had to learn aspects about how to do this.
I also love playing and watching sport. This was therefore something else which I then concentrated on and I have now written articles on snooker and football.
To gain inspiration and to help me to write my articles, I read a lot of books and newspapers and I also like to watch the news and current affairs programs on the television.

Writers and illustrators can find themselves isolated, especially when they get engrossed in a project that wont go away until they’ve seen it through.
Sometimes however, no matter how brilliant the idea is, both writers and artists lose focus and give up, because it all becomes too hard.
That’s the time to find like minded people to offer encouragement and perspective AND, if you’re up for it, a spot of collaboration.
Find the right person to put words to your illustrations, or
illustrations to your words, and the whole idea springs to life once again.
Phrases stick in your mind sometimes. I read this one 16 years ago when I started a Backpackers Hostel in Albany, and I stuck it on the wall in
reception where, the last time I looked, it still is, although I’m long gone.
It could be the definition of many things. Character, success, life, relationships. Apply it to whatever feels right. I am applying it in this instance to creating brilliant children’s books, and making them available to all children, wherever they are in the world:
‘THE ABILITY TO SEE THROUGH AN IDEA LONG AFTER THE ENTHUSIASM IN WHICH IT WAS CONCEIVED HAS PASSED.’
If you have an idea for a story of book that has been going back and forth through your head for years, but haven’t done anything with it, go back to it. Don’t let it go. Share it with someone you trust and enroll them into the possibility of seeing it through.

Cancer of the mesothelium is a scarce cancer of the tissue that lines the body’s inner organs. Almost two thousand new cases are recognized every year in the whole United States. Of this group, about75 percent of occurrences concern the sac around the lungs, called the pleura. This type of cancer is called pleural mesothelioma. In about ten to twenty percent of instances, mesothelioma might concern the tissue that envelopes abdomen organs, called the peritoneal membrane, creating what is then referred to as peritoneal mesothelioma.
Being introduced to asbestos is positively the overwhelming risk factor for this rare disease. Following exposure to asbestos, the time to development of the mesothelioma disease may be two to four decades. Because of occupational exposure, malignant mesothelioma is almost 3 times more regular in men, than in women. Because the number of instances moves upward with your age, there are about 10 times more instances in the males over age 64 than in the males in their 30s.
Getting Malignant mesothelioma is a grave ailment, that, at the current time, has a very bad rate of continuing endurance. On the other hand, if it is spotted early, treatments are then at hand that will significantly lengthen the patient’s life. Cutting edge approaches continue to be and are being developed through the use of clinical trials.

Staying motivated and focused is essential to your business. Remember those goals you wrote down? You did write them down, didn’t you?? Good! Think about those goals, and about where you want to be a year from now, ten years from now. Every moment between now and then is an opportunity to move closer to the goals you’ve set for yourself.
Now, I want you to think about how you spend your time. What are you going to do for the next hour? Is it going to move you closer toward your goal? Picture yourself wasting the next hour, wasting this next year, and then think about how you’re going to feel when you haven’t achieved what you set out to do. Regret is a powerful motivator.
Now think about what would happen if you use your time wisely. If you follow your plan of action and keep focused on your goals. Picture yourself living out your dreams and think how good it will feel a year from now, ten years from now, when you can do just that! It can happen! You can be successful!
Ok, so now you’ve got your vision focused on success. You’re motivated to see your dreams become reality! You start networking, emailing some people, maybe placing an ad or two. You get a few responses but nobody seems really interested. You’re doing everything right but it still doesn’t seem to be working. You’re getting a little discouraged. Things aren’t moving along as fast as you thought they would. Don’t worry!! As I said before, this is a temporary condition! There are going to be some slow times. The key is to find out what keeps you going and never give up! Sign up for a daily motivational email, chat with some of your team members, read an inspiring biography, whatever it takes to keep you focused and motivated is what you need to do! And remember, you are not alone!

Meth addiction is difficult to treat because the withdrawal symptoms are sometimes just as bad as its adverse effects on the user. Most meth users who are being detoxified eventually go back to the habit because the sudden pull out of the drug makes them depressive, extremely hungry all the time, or panicky.
Meth detox at home is possible with the help of family members. As a matter of fact, the support of the family is essential because a major chunk of the total treatment process involves home meth detox.
While the initial medical efforts to extract the substance from the user’s body is done by drugs and/or machines, a huge part of the meth user’s rehabilitation lies on his/her mentality. As family of a meth user, you have the responsibility to want to make the user quit meth as soon as possible. Hopefully, s/he drops the habit before its too late and severe brain damage has been done because of the drug abuse.
Long term effects
Long term users of meth suffer from thin vessels in the brain which makes them very susceptible to stroke. Meth also makes you lose appetite, so people who have unrealistic body images could easily resort to this illegal drug.
